Brand new AT&T passport is deleting text messages instead of keeping entire history. This is intermittent and has happened a few times now. It has only happened a handful of times. Help?

Are you accidentally hitting the delete button occasionally on the instant actions (triage)?

I don't know what that is, maybe? Where is that?

If you are referring to the "three dot icon" and then hitting "clear chat", no I am not doing that at all.

The three lines at the top right of the HUB screen. Toggles triage.

perhaps. I will have to be careful of that. Thanks, that might be it.

I have this problem as well. No, I am not accidentally deleting threads because there is always a warning asking me to confirm the action when I DO delete one. I have yet to find a solution to this extremely annoying problem. There's no option to keep text messages for a specific amount of time, so I don't see what I need to do to keep them forever. Any thoughts?

You can also remove the delete option from the triage. That's what I did to prevent the accidental hitting of the delete in the triage.

nothing gets deleted by either AT&T or the Passport OS. Delete function is actioned by the operator. So I am suggesting is how you operate your text reading via hub or via the text app. Your history should be there for as long as you keep it.
You need to test the way you naturally deal with a thread. Get someone to start a text thread test and see how it works. you might be pressing the enter button but in fact the back x delete button..
