I was ok carrying my z10 to the gym for my music needs but with this huge thing called the passport, I'm wondering if bringing my ipod instead but connecting it to blend if I'd still receive and be able to send bbm messagges and txt messages.

Mine arrived today, too, and it's a work of art! Very solid, great display and not as massive as I thought it would be (Z30 and Nokia 1320 user here). It feels quick but I've got to wait to get home for the 700+MB system update and to get my nano SIM. The keyboard will take some getting used to but it's not too out of control. Really happy with this purchase and can't wait to dig into it more!

I'm fairly new here and seriously considering the BB Passport... I've briefly used the Q10 but screen too small... Currently have iPhone 5c..

Question: are there emoticons or emojis on 10.3 bb also on the Passport?

It will only work with iPads or Android tablets. Not the phones.

Got mine right on time this morning. Working great and it's not as awkward to use as I thought it would be. Great screen and actually feels lighter than my Z30. Going to take a bit to get used to the keyboard as others have said but over all I am really liking this phone.

They told me that due to the CRTC ruling that banned 3 yr terms, as of September 1st, 2014, all customers upgrading phones will have to switch to a "new" (read: expensive) plan to get the subsidized cost.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation on this and it looks like the carriers are lying to customers once again (surprise surprise).

The CRTC didn't ban 3-year terms. They banned contract break fees after 2 years only, which means that if you want a 3-year term to lower the price of the phone, you should be able to (carriers had that option available right after the ruling), and if you want to cancel a 3-year contract after 2 years they can't charge you a cancellation fee.

Carriers seem to not want to advertise it or maybe they just completely got rid of the option so they can charge more... makes perfect sleazy-business-sense.

In any case, with the plan I have (it's pretty good), I will DEMAND a 3-year contract and they better comply. Lol.
