Too bad some reviews didn't know about this feature, I saw one reviewer talk bad about the Passport because the Android app he tried out didn't fit the screen. You would think that BlackBerry would give the reviewers a Tips & Tricks manual.

That's the problem.. BlackBerry must educate the consumer especially the tech geeks who reviews their device.. I saw one saying the BlackBerry Passport still don't have Instagram which is a lie but can't blame her.. instagram really can't be found on the Amazon AppStore.

When he first open it.. the app doesn't fit right on the square screen. The New feature is we can now zoom out the app screen so that it could fit perfectly on Square screen BlackBerry 10 devices.

The app crashes cause it needs to resize to fit in on the screen.

I wouldn't really call it a crash though. More like a planned shutdown. Too bad it can't be programmed to force a restart.

Why they don't preload the devices they send out to reviewers with iGrann, Snap2chat, Ober, Timber, etc, is beyond me. Joanna Stern complained that there was no Instagram, Snapchat, and Uber. Technically she is right. But the third party apps in BB world do the job admirably. Blackberry needs to start stacking the deck in their favour. In Joanna's case they could have easily done this. And it wouldn't have been a stretch as the apps are all legit and available in BB world (Ober and Timber are in beta zone, but close enough!).

Is she a tech reviewer or just a phone user that also happens to write for a living? I mean, do I expect every political or scientific journalist out there to just re-write the "press notes" handed to them by whomever they are covering? No... it's their job to investigate, research, dig,.. and then report their findings.

If the purpose of your position is to provide advice as to whether someone might want or not want a device, then you should explore it (just like these guys at N4BB did). Instead she just stopped at the very surface.

Her review was a lame addendum to her iPhone fawning.

Yeah, that was definitely a crash.

I also don't understand what was "zoomed out"? Was the aspect ratio changed? I can't wait to play with this and hopefully someone will have a better explanation than that video.
