    Hi,

I just wanted to recommend users of Snap, Amazon or an older version of the Play Store to upgrade to the latest and greatest Google Play Store. I just did and now I can use Google Maps without any restrictions or annoying Google Services dependencies pop ups. I can even download maps and thus use Google Maps off-line.

All you need to do is to download and install the Play Store and the two corresponding apps/patches (you can do everything right on your Passport). Here are the apps and instructions provided by Cobalt: Google Play Store for BlackBerry 10 [Read first post for instructions] - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

Don't worry, the installation steps are really easy and it only takes a few minutes.

To each his own You are missing out on some features by not using the official Android app store though, but that's your choice of course.

Does the installation of all three apps as per the instructions affect the battery life? Or when one closes the playstore it closes completely without consuming any more resources?

I haven't noticed any changes in my battery life. If it is any, it is minimal.

I have almost all Cobalt's apps and running my Passport with more than 90 apps from other sources and never complaint about battery life. 17+ average hours a day with heavy use.

Question... I have searched in the correspondent thread I couldn't find the answer to my issue... I installed few days ago the Pay Store using the Cobalt's patches... however, for the Google Maps, even when it works, I receive several times during the day a notification saying that I need to install Google Service... anyway to get rid of it? Thanks a lot

You can turn off that notification. Go to my Google Landing page here on Crackberry and read the instructions at the end of the first post.

Google Play Store is not equals Google Play Services. Maybe first read into it, then post your opinion.

Have followed instructions for all of Cobalt's patchers/apps to a T and still have not managed to get them working perfectly. I just use a combo of Amazon, Snap and Play Store depending on which one feels like working that day.

And that's basically my situation. It is what it is. Whatever works that day works that day. Have to ask yourself is it worth it.

    Thanks for update info.
Snap had been quite useful to me until I installed Cobalt's Google Play Store about a year ago ; so I un installed Snap last week as it was kind of a "doublon", heavier in size and more limited in terms of options (front store's welcome page, search & suggestions + buying options, app data downloads consistency etc. ).

I've since then been quite happy with Cobalt's patch. Got apps, especially heavy games to work.
Now my version is 5.4.10 while from my understanding, 5.1.11 build 1 is the latest ("Version History", http://forums.crackberry.com/android...ctions-985344/ ).

Please, correct me if wrong. Also, should I uninstall the version that I'm presently running before installing the new one or could I just proceed with the downloads & update ?
Last, has anyone run it on the Z30 so they can share their experience ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Looks like 5.6.8 build 1 would be the latest update of google Play Store from Cobalt's list. I want to say I have seen him answer your question about updating the play store and saying you just update the Playstore, no need to update the other 2 apps.
