I have been playing around with the new update and have noticed a few things that I quite enjoy.

    1. Better optimization for the screen size.
It looks like they optimized the hub so that more information and content fits on the screen. I feel like it makes much better use of the screen.

    2. Browser refresh
If the browser unexpectedly closes it has a easier way to decide what tabs you would like to reopen.

    3. Better android optimization.
When I use android apps you can optimize the screen to zoom out more to fit the content better (it had this feature before) BUT they added a second option to optimize the application in a more native mode to be more in tune with 16:9 aspect ratio. What this does is add black bars on the top and bottom or sides but it makes the app usable as intended by the app developer. I had wanted this feature before and I'm really glad that they added it! It makes some apps like games much more usable.

I haven't been following Passport-specific 10.3.1 news, so I didn't know about that third item, with 16:9 screen & black bars. Very cool!

I'd love to weigh in on the new update, if I wasn't with Telus and sitting here on my passport running 10.3.0. Thanks again, jerks.

I didn't know about your 2nd point, and I also found the screen optimization for android apps, and I thought that was very clever!

Oh! I also love that they brought back color LEDs. It never made sense to me that they didn't make that a native feature from the start of BB10.

It was there but no built into the system settings. Bebuzz, hub++ were, power tools did that since 10.0

Oh I know the ability was there! I loved it on my Bold 9000 and Torch devices. That's why I said it didn't make sense to me that is wasn't a native option since the roll out of BB10. It was somewhat available on the PlayBook too, IIRC, albeit through some kind of modification/hack.

I love how you can cycle through your preferred profiles in the quick settings! Fav feature of 10.3.1. Way better than just choosing last profile or Normal
