Why BlackBerry link does not have built-in functionality to update the phone?
Why I can not do that from my computer?
Operating System does not belong to the Telco Operator.
So why should I wait for some bonzo to muck up my phone?
this process of roll-up is TOTALY un-acceptable what Blackberry does.
It worries me about Blackberry security and modifications I am getting from telco provider.
It is a joke.

BB Link can update your phone just fine, just not leaked OS, you can get your carrier approved OS via BB Link. If you use an Autoloader you don't need any software at all just a USB cord and a PC. You will lose your data with an Autoloader so back up what you need to keep. There are alternate apps to help you load updates without loosing data (backup still advised) but if you are making a big jump in OS versions an Autoloader may be recommended.

I can report back that I have not experienced the green flickering!

I also did the 10.3.1 update using the Blitz non destructive method and also did the 2480 update on my TELUS unlocked passport and the device is smooth, more responsive and no flickering issues, I couldn't be happier.
