I have found that doing the following three things really improves my battery life, giving me around 1.5 days:

    1. Screen brightness at 40%
    2. Bluetooth off when not in car
    3. Wi-fi always on

    Anyone else have other tricks?

    Mine is screen at lowest
White balance a bit darker than normal
And I always put on bedside mode when at work only checking it during my breaks.

What is that?! That my friend is my BlackBerry Passport.

WiFi on/off does not show any difference for me,, neither does bluetooth. So I always have them ON

What I find to drain most, is the radio when there is bad coverage.
By using WiFi whenever you are home, work or hotpot, you can get 10+ additional hours from your battery

I used to have a Z10 - and could get 18+ hours out of it with all the usual tricks:

    display at minimum brightness
switch off mobile data when in wi-fi
    always use wi-fi when available
bluetooth only on in the car
close all apps when you finish with them (ie. no open apps in the task screen)

Now I've only been a passport user for a few days, but I easily get a days use - and I am still in the can't put it down stage. Much heavier use. To give you an idea, I used to read the news and watch a few videos in the morning over breakfast. The Z10 could be down below 90% after 1/2 hour of this use. The passport still hasn't cracked 100%. Amazing.

So, I still use some of my Z10 tips:

    screen at 50%
    wifi when available
no mobile data when on wifi
    bluetooth in the car only
quit apps when I no longer need them (rather than leave them in the task screen)

The main difference is that I can now do whatever else I want and not worry about battery. An easy days use, possibly two. I played a few hours of games last night (retroarch, beach buggy blitz, tux rider...) which would have flattened the Z10. Passport - hmmm, still had 37% when I plugged it in - off the charger at 6am, on at 12:30am.

Media sharing can put a dent into your battery life. I use it often to stream my music to my home sound system using DLNA/Wifi Direct and, occasionally, forget to turn it off when done. The hit to my battery is noticeable.

Let's not forget also to take care of the battery itself. Since Lithium ion wants to be charged frequently, charge it as much as you can. Don't let it drain or else you'll decrease the battery capacity and life of your battery. Even if you do all those tricks. And also don't let your device heat up. When charging, place you device on a heat absorbing platform. I sometimes place my device near a fan to cool it down.

    Cheers!
