    Is there a way to lock the ALT button without holding the on screen button?

    I thought the screen button was the shift button?
    Is there an alt button/shortcut/key on the device?

    Looks like it. Just press and hold the @123 button and it should lock it. After that, you shouldn't have to keep holding the button, I don't think. Of course, it'll take up about half of the screen, but still.
