Ok so I guess most of you would have seen the new images of the Oslo on here and on N4BB and I have to say It looks SOOOO GOOOOD !!!, I wish it would come to the UK because I would buy it hands down !, Maybe not to replace my black passport, but I am really liking the design of it !

what are everyone else's thoughts about the new images ?

I like the look of the Oslo but unless there is some huge software update or added features I plan to stick with my Passport.

I really hope they consider another color for the Oslo aka Dallas and the keyboard is ugly to see, I working at a big company and posting the pictures and there was no one who liked the grey/silver color and the keyboard looks cheap, als the case looks not good. I only asked them about the concept. There where more then 80 people given commence and they allmost voted "No Go" . So BlackBerry must consider another design .

I disagree. I think it looks hideous.

It's an ugly reskin of the Passport. With those massive speaker grills, round circle camera obtusely placed on the back, and the flat grey color of the plastic to appear like metal (as opposed to the contemporary practice of using real, actual anodized or brushed metal) it reminds me of an old school PDA or Pocket PC .

To me, with the multiple textures, colors, and design principles, it looks like a hodge-podge of ideas - design by committee.
I'm not a fan.

The original Passport is a bold vision, and the AT&T version is a nice refinement of that vision. This one just bucked all of it for some weird checklist of items.

The plastic housing designed to look like faux metal, the circular camera haphazardly slapped on the back (unlike the fitted sleek camera housing on the original Passport), the massive speaker grills on the bottom, the weird mix of textures from the front to the back, the frumpy rounded design - looks less like a refinement ala the AT&T version and more like it put on some weight and joined a "body acceptance" Tumblr group.

To me the Oslo screams iPhone 5C.

That is, its basically a 5 but wrapped in cheap material and sold at a lower price.

Spec wise its basically a Passport from what has been rumored, it will probably be about $100 less or somewhere around there if I were to guess.

The photos indicate that they have some serious manufacturing problems. To release that would be professional suicide. Maybe if you fix assembly...

So, my test for this question is simple: If I were buying a phone today, and I had the choice of a Passport or an Oslo, which one would I take?

I actually do like the Oslo's cool, metallic look, but I think I'd stick with the original Passport...

EXACTLY the same phone as the Passport. The different outer case might be half a mm different in some dimensions, but it's functionally identical, and very close dimensionally.

It looks interesting, but I prefers the sharper corners of my Passport. Gives the device a nice finish.

Besides, I'm a person who will buy a device and keep until it's beaten into the ground. I don't buy into this buy a new phone every year thing. When I have gotten my money's worth out of my current device and it stops working, then I'll look into a new one.
