@Leon Thiart, do you have any sound profile switch apps (ex. Power Tools)?
If so, delete the app and see if the issue continues.

I did a full backup and since then my phone rings and all is good, thanks for the help.

Everything works fine, the whatsapp toast notifications work fine and I can also reply to them instantly. And android apps run as fast as they do on my xperia Z2. I place them side by side and run similar apps and it's just fine

Load 10.3.1 maybe? No toast or Android app issues. The 10.3.1.2480 seems to be the best OS released till date ( better than any leaked or official OS for Passport ). Load it over 10.3.1.2267 and it's gold.

I had a similar issue and removing a couple apps that had profile permissions corrected the problem. In have since reinstalled the apps and all is good now. The upgrade to 10.3.1.2480 hosed things and removing the apps fixed it.
