    Hi all,

Sorry about the newbie question here but I was wondering if I am able to connect my Passport to my laptop with Internet access?

I may need to bring my laptop on a small little trip and need to sneak away to do some work. Fairly remote location but I do have 100% internet coverage via my mobile connection.

In essence I am trying to do a BlackBerry Bridge style connection so that I can work online with my laptop and use the BlackBerry Blend feature as well.

If this is possible, can anybody offer any step by step instructions?

    Thanks

Make sure your carrier allows for it as some charge extra for HotSpot usage.

Depending on your carrier, but if they allow hotspot, it shouldn't be a problem.

I used hotspot functions quite often, no problem as long as coverage is good. And if data plan is not too expensive, of course.

Yeah it works well. I use it to connect my surface pro 4 and often a second phone like an iPhone or something I just use on WiFi. Of course it's dependent on signal level and where you are. It's been unusable in low signal areas but most of the time works well.

Hot spot and tethering works for me on ATT. Love it!

Also, super easy. Go to BlackBerry search and type "hotspot". It's straight forward from there. Setup a network name and password and that's it.
