On the Passport specifically? Doubtful, but who knows. As for the Priv by BlackBerry, very likely (especially with the changes to app permissions).

Maybe I'm wrong, but most of Marshmallows' new features need Google's apps and services, but maybe it would allow us to control permissions of apps (in BlackBerry 10.3, it only can control if Android app can run in background or not) But I would still love an updated runtime with new API version (4.3 to 4.4,5.0 or 6.0) rather than minor upgrade like from 4.3 to 4.3.1. But I'm pretty sure it won't have the newer runtime at least until Priv gets 6.0.

Hype train? Every time a new os is announced people go nuts for it and once it's released it runs like complete dogcrap. I still think lollipop runs like dogcrap today.

Highly doubtful for a maintenance update. So, I wouldn't expect much more.
