Since I got my Passport, I've noticed that I have very little reason to break out my tablet (Lenovo Win8.1 tab) --- at least when I have to check/reply to emails or read documents, and for general Web browsing.

For serious document creation, I'll still use the tablet with a Bluetooth keyboard, and it wins out on the rare occasions I watch a Netflix show, but for the most part the Passport has taken over most of my casual computing tasks (and some of the serious tasks too).

Honestly, the Passport combined with my laptop covers all my computing needs. If I didn't already have the tablet, I wouldn't feel the need to get one.

Anyone else salting away their tablets since they received their Passport?

I think I've used my home laptop only once or twice since I got the PP. tablet use has just stopped.

Since getting my passport I have not been using my iPad air much, other than checking some game apps. Navigation is superior on the passport. Screen size is perfect and the keyboard is precise.

Yeah totally. Especially with Blend, my tablet isn't needed.

When people who aren't familiar with Blend ask me about it, and I answer, they just don't seem to comprehend. It's really that far outside the box.

once in a while, I hear people mention that the PP is "too big", yet those same people tote around a tablet along with their phone.

Since I got my PP, certainly don't intend on getting another tablet any time soon....

Is that What TH was referring to when he said the tablet will be obsolete in 5 years?

Strangely enough, I had a 'phablet' before I got the Passport. It is a Nokia Lumia 1520. 6" of screen space.

However, it didn't replace my tablet as completely as the Passport. The physical keyboard combined with a generous screen was what I was looking for.

My playbook sits on the kitchen table and I read news on it in the morning - that's about it . For everything else it's my Passport.

Kind of, but not really. I have the iPad Air 2 and it's great. I'm even one of those people who will say that the iPad is the best tablet in the world. But if I'm on it and an email comes in to my iCloud inbox on my iPad and my Passport, my Passport gets it at least ten seconds faster, and it's just so easy to grab it and type back a response. Email is fine on the iPad, but it's nowhere near as good as the Passport, obviously.

But for watching movies and shows, I never do that on my Passport. I wear contact lenses, so I like to take them out at night and watch stuff on my iPad with it really close to my eyes (I know, it's bad for me!). I still think the tablet and the Passport are two different types of devices, and if I could only have one, I'd pick my beautiful Passport.

Yep I've left my iPad out in my car for a while now that I don't know if there's any battery left. I don't even recall the last time I changed it.

My Microsoft Surface 2 has definitely seen less use after I got my Passport. I find that surfing the web it much better now than on my Z10.
