This is more of essay, than review as we are used from tech press.
Writer clearly wanted to give Passport a chance and he was subsequently very pleased with the experience.

Is the tide turning? Will press stop hammering BlackBerry with "is worse because is not iPhone" trope?

A friend recognized my Passport yesterday and I wasn't try to show it off. His wife saw my phone and asked which brand it was. He immediately said it must be the BlackBerry Passport. He has been reading up about it and thinking of pulling the trigger. His wife is using the iPhone6 and he is using an android phone. Not until he said so I proceeded to do a quick demo of the virtual keyboard, the screen using Star Tracker app, shortcut keys. He was very impressed.

This is what I like about the passport launch. You can simply feel the momentum building for this new innovative design. Slab phones are not the cure all for everyone. Nicely played Blackberry.
