I installed the Google translator from snap, problem I am having is the translator doesn't wait till I finish typing before translating, it usually only takes first letter or two and try translating that, which makes the app unusable on the passport. I had the same app on the z10 and it worked perfectly, any ideas?

Maybe it's because of the OS? Which OS do you have and what did the Z have?

Isame problem here. Try to use google translate from the browser. You can add the shortcut on home screen.

Damn. I just downloaded this and I'm having the same issue. Still on the stock OS. Too scared to load a leak on the Passport and the official version of 10.3.1 should be here any day now. Browser version works fine, yes, but it's nice to have it working offline, especially since this is one app that is very useful while traveling.

Yes I had the same but I solved it like this...I changed the English to German (or maybe some other languages) and then the typing is fine...it will translate when you put English. Close it the next time I opened it with English it was fine. Maybe give it a try.

Here is my reply from the other post...hope it helps a bit.

    Hi,

I have tried a few "translators", both native and android ( there so many). I remember having the Google one, since it is the most obvious, but didn't work nicely.
Maybe as option to the Google one....

"Handy Tanslator " - Android App

The nicest one, clean, easy to use, with voice dictation as well is:

If you decide to Zoom out it has a menu on side which is nice for active users.
