Used to have no problems connecting in Starbucks (in HK) using 10.3.0. Now on the latest 10.3.1.1779 haven't been able to connect. Works fine using my android phone so it's not the WiFi. Not sure what the settings have to be adjusted using my BlackBerry? Anyone in HK who has success in using HK Starbucks WiFi? Thanks

Does it take you to the hotspot login page or agreement page at least?

Some of these 10.3.1 OS's have had issues. I think BlackBerry shouldn't have released some of them or the carrier should have done better testing.

    Try this:

    1. Disable WiFi
    2. Delete the saved Starbucks WiFi connection in the saved connections
    3. Enable WiFi and select Starbucks WiFi Hotspot again to connect, and wait until it brings you to login page, which could take a few minutes.

Hotspot login pages don't always automatically show (since 10.3+?) because they are seen as "dangerous connections". The Security signature of the hotspot isn't recognised or some such BS.
If you connect to the Hotspot and try to open a page manually, it will automatically revert to Mobile Data, so that doesn't work either.

    Solution:
    - Disable Mobile Data from Settings
    - Connect to hotspot (won't give a login notification)
    - Open the browser and try to open any webpage
Now the browser will show you a bunch of "dangerous connection" warnings.
    - ignore these warnings and continue (the Hotspot login sites will be whitelisted in the browser)
You can now see Login page for the Hotspot, congratulations!

Unfortunately you have to do this every time you want to reconnect to the Hotspot, until BlackBerry changes the process, or the Hotspot owner sets up a properly verified connection.

I wish it had been a sticky, took me forever to find a way around it. Most of the Hotspots I use locally are no longer easy to access. (not the only weird 10.3.1 behaviour).

In the end I usually just stick to mobile data now because it's too cumbersome.
