Guys, here's some food for thoughts and discussion:

    1) Gmail account with IMAP enabled. There's an option "Use Push if supported" as well as various sync intervals (manual, 24 hrs, etc)

Email settings for Gmail and ActiveSync - which are better for battery life?-img_20141222_123059.png

What is better option for battery consumption? Should I use the push? What sync interval is better? How does the manual sync for Gmail works?

    2) Outlook.com's ActiveSync account. It uses push if I understand correctly. Is there any way to improve battery life with some syncing?

Interesting - any way to improve passport's battery life?

When using Push, turn your sync to manual.

    What is better? I mean:

To push or not to push, that's the question!

I use use push and never seem to have a problem, i get my email almost instant, but if you have it on a sync interval you will only receive at that interval.

It's not the case with gmail's imap. You receive emails instantly, even with 24 hrs sync
