I haven't had any double typing issues with the Passport. I did have them with my Q, but none with the Passport. If it is just one key perhaps it's a bad sensor underneath and can be exchanged with BlackBerry?

Thanks everyone for your input. It is definitely there and it looks like a few other keys have started acting up. I have never even dropped my phone!

Since I bought it from someone who got it from their carrier, and I am not with that carrier, I'm not sure what options I have?? The phone is still under warranty and has a major hardware problem and there is no way to get it repaired?? Any other thoughts would be appreciated!

I do not have double typing issue on my passport, the typing experience is very good on passport, better than my previous blackberry Q10

Well, I guess time will tell. I remember this problem surfaced a few months (between 3 to 8 months) after use.

Hopefully, it won't be a major problem. Some owners of the Classic are also experiencing this problem.

Where did you hear about that? This is the first I've heard of it being an issue on the Classic.

Seen this issue on my Passport a while ago on G,H and B. Found a solution to the problem after some thought. My fat thumb was doing it when entering a space. On BBM it's also very easy to catch the on-screen send button if using the centre predicted word. I am NOT saying this is the cause of all the problems, just that it's something to look at.

I had this issue with Q10, but I solved by replacing the keyboard which wasn't very difficult or expensive. However, if I have the same issue with passport I will probably buy another phone and never get back to BlackBerry. It's unacceptable to buy very expensive phone and then to have issues the buttons?

BlackBerry really needs to look into better production facilities. They've had this problem for years: http://www.berryreview.com/2011/02/0...r-double-type/ (read the comments), although I think the scale of it is higher since the Q10.

With my Q10 there were two causes - faulty assembly and contamination. See the keyboard repair thread in my sig for details, if you're interested.

Maybe moving the keyboard assembly to a factory with higher quality control would be worth adding a dollar or two to production costs.

Upgraded the os. Double typing still appear and felt even worse after upgrade. Can anyone confirm its not due to OS and rather a hardware issue. Did anyone replaced the keypad on passport and resolve the issue?

It's annoying. Bought the phone at pre-order from shopblackberry.com. I have 2 years of warranty but I live in romania and for warranty I have to send it back to us
