This is a duplicate post, sort of, but I didn't want it lost on the other PP Silver thread.

I learned one thing the hard way--there's no way (that I know of) to get the 10.3.2.859 radio for Passport to run on the SE. I wanted the 859 radio for better battery life, and also because there is one Android program I have that depends upon the fact that the 859 radio doesn't recognize NFC at all--a defect in the radio, perhaps, but a good one for me, since I don't use NFC.

First I did a nondestructive load of 859 via Sachesi over the stock OS on the Passport SE 2339/2340. It soft bricked the phone.

I then autoloaded 10.3.2.2339--no problem, of course. Then I tried to load an 859 radio autoloader over it, something that usually works without wiping the phone. Oops--soft bricked it again. So I autoloaded the entire 10.3.2.858 OS with radio 859--still soft bricked. Then I made an autoloader hybrid of 2339/859 with DBBT--again soft bricked. So I'm back to 10.3.2.2339 and have restored all my old stuff from 2339.

Apparently the 859 Passport radio is incompatible with the Passport SE.

Thanks for the tip. Also, the reason why nfc is broken is trying to load an 8xx radio over the 2xxx versions.

I've done the same because I also have crappy signal with the 2xxx radios, and my nfc is also broken, loading one of those radios fixes the nfc, and once you load the older one, it breaks again.

For your purposes, can't you just turn NFC off?

Correct. Are we talking about the same app? The one for AliveCor?

If so, I even talked with the company, and the rep said they didn't have the time or the resources to test it or adapt it for the BlackBerry. She said of all the calls they've had, I'm the only one with a BlackBerry. (I mentioned this in another thread.). I even told her that the problem was with NFC, turned off or not, and that maybe their software engineer(s) could figure it out. I don't think she followed up.
