Just wondering if dark theme is as common on the passport as it was in 10.2.

On my z30 I had dark themes enabled everywhere I possibly could.

In the passport I have found most dark themes , sms, BBM, calendar, contacts. I can't seem to find the setting to change "settings" to dark theme. Is that possible in 10.3?

And are there any dark themes found in 10.3 that are not in 10.2.

There's currently no way to change the Settings menu or the Hub to dark theme.

He's right. It depends on the screen type. White for LCDs and black for LEDs.

    Thanks for the info.

What about phone app? I assume that cannot be changed. Don't see a setting for dark theme.

I'm having that issue also. No matter how many times I restart the app or force close the contacts process in device manager I can't get dark theme to stay.

No way am I security wiping device just to get dark themes to work as some have suggested.

On Passport, you should use the light theme to save battery.

Not for LCD, like the Passport has.
Only for AMOLED like the Q10 and Z30.

Does anyone know if the Black Theme on Passport (where available) increases the power consumption versus the Light Theme, or they have similar power consumption?

    Thanks for help!

Well, it's not a big difference like white VS black for AMOLED screen, but it will certainly do.
The back light of LCD screen is what uses the most power, but to get dark pixels, the LCD must be excited to block the light coming from behind.

AMOLED are better at it because there is no back light, in case of black pixel no light is emitted.
On LCD, you cannot turn off the backlight.
Even if some LED backlit LCD use some techniques to reduce or turing off the intensity on dark/black areas to get deeper black and consume less, but you cannot do that if at least one pixel is not black (IE: text... or anything that is not a pure black/gray).

In that case, then Z10 owner shouldn't use dark theme since the Z10 has LCD screen.

Exactly, that's why initially the dark theme was available only on Q10... they made it a choice because someone liked it, and someone else preferred it light even on Q10.

You do realize that the dark theme only applies to the actual contacts app? And not the contacts you see when in the phone app. Don't ask me why its not universal, but that's just the way it works.
