How long does it typically take to fully charge a Passport from empty?
My LG G2 before charged from 10%-100% in about 2hrs.

The Passport charging time seems to be pretty disappointing...

How... is it comparing apples to oranges? Because they're from different manufacturers?

What's the mAh charge rate for the playbook chargers? I believe the charger that I'm using to charge the Passport is already higher than the adapter comes in the box.

Are you using the charger that came with the Passport? My passport charges from 10% to full in about two - two and a half hours. An hour if I use a samsung tablet charger. Also, the Passport has a pretty large battery, so charge times will be a bit longer than some other phones.

Do you mean using the Samsung charger to charge the Passport? If so, do you feel any problem charging this way?

No. That's with the Passport charger. If I use the samsung tablet charger it will charge full in about an hour. I'm not sure if it is the best thing for the battery. It does seem to get a bit warmer during the charge, but I don't do it all the time. Only when I need a quick charge.

I'm using Playbook charger with 1800mah and it takes less than 2 hours to charge PP to full battery (3450mah)

The Passport's battery capacity is 3450 mAh and the charger supplied with it has current 1350 mA so it takes 3450/1350 = 2.56 h for a full charging from empty battery.

Thanks... I had my phone plugged in for exactly 3 hours yesterday but it only charged about 50%. I wasn't using the Passport charger though but was using a 1800 mAh charger instead. I'll try the one that came out of the box.

Are you sure that it was an 1800 mAh-- or was it 800 mAh? Something is not right.

    It's apples to oranges,
First your right, they are different manufacturers and they set up their systems differently.
Second, the Passport battery is 17% bigger than the LG G2 battery.

If you're using your phone while charging, turn on 'Battery Saving mode'. I find it charge faster when it's on that mode.
Or if you're not using your phone, turn on 'flight mode' while charging.

Both methods I use, helped charging my phone faster.
I can get 35% increase within 30 minutes using either method.

Mind you, this is using original Passport charger that came in the box.
Fast enough for me. If I'm in a hurry, then I'll use the 2.1A samsung charger that I bought separately. From what I heard, it's not a good method for the battery. That's why I seldom use it unless if I really really need to.

Yes, I'm aware of those tricks to help the phone charge faster. My concern was that sometimes I need a quick mid-day charge while I'm on the road but I won't be able to if the phone charges too slow.

Does the Passport not have turbo charge?

That simple math assumes the phone USES no power during the charge! As in, it was off during the charge.

If it's on, the net inflow of power is less than 1350 mA.

Wow, defensive much? QuickCharge isn't an Android technology either. It's a Qualcom one.
