    Hello,

I am traveling to New York this August and I am considering buying a Blackberry Passport from there. I live in Denmark (Europe), where Blackberry phones generally are not available or priced at ridiculously high prices.

    So my questions are:
    • Will an unlocked Passport bought in the US work in Denmark?
    • I suppose the warranty is void outside the US, so where can I find the cheapest unlocked BB Passport? I am looking for the original, square design (not the one with rounded corners)

    Thank you.

If you happen to know someone in Denmark that has a passport device, ask them the model number (settings > about > category: general) and compare it with the US model number. There's a possibility that the assigned radio frequencies in the countries mentioned aren't the same.

When you look here you can find the radio frequencies are supported by what version of Passport. compare it withe the frequencies of your carrier in Denmark and you are on a good way to buy the right Passport.

I really don't know anyone with a Blackberry Passport. As I said, Blackberry (especially the Passport) isn't very common around here.

As far as I know, we use these frequencies in Denmark, depending on the carrier:

    4G LTE: 800, 1800 & 2600 MHz
    3G: 900 & 2100 MHz
    2G: 900 & 1800 MHz

Does the Passport in the US work on these frequencies? I read somewhere that all Passports are built the same and all should work globally. Is this true?

There is only one Passport almighty
If you not planning to buy AT&T version you can be sure it will work everywhere in the world.
AT&T version may work, but not 100% sure.

Jsanakonda--> That is good to know.

So where can I buy the standard version unlocked and off-contract in New York? I am not really familiar with the electronics stores in the US. BestBuy or somewhere else maybe?

B&H Photo Video in New York has unlocked Passports. The store has a very good reputation. I used to buy DSLR cameras and lens with them.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. I will check them out once I get there.
