I have been searching and didn't find this info until I contacted Tmobile. This is what they said:

The HD calling is something the phone has to be capable of. Unless it is less than a year old, it may not. As far as the wifi calling, you have to register your 911 address and make sure you have OS 10.3.2.2789

Thought maybe that would be helpful to some people. It was to me.

If they're saying the Passport isn't capable of HD calling, they're BSing you. I have a Q10 on TMO and while I don't get HD voice on TMO, I have had it on another (international) carrier...in a country the TMO Q10 (SQN100-5) isn't even native to.

But they are right about the WiFi calling part. Frankly, I'm surprised.

Does that mean you got WiFi calling to work on your Passport on T-Mo? If so, what did you have to do to download the WiFi calling app?

The "app" is just a nifty UI to manage the feature. It does not bestow or take away WFC from your phone. Think of it as a light switch, whereas WFC is the electricity.

Since the Passport was not sold by TMO, the "app" isn't available from BB World. But you can side load it: http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/fs/q...-v7+signed.bar

That is great. I installed the .bar, but now I am getting an error in the "app". I'll go chase that later. Thanks VERY MUCH for the tip.

No problem. Make sure you have either 10.3.2.2789 or 10.3.2.2813 (another build that supports WFC.)

Oh, and also try restarting your phone, in addition to making sure you have a 911 address set, as the OP pointed out.

I did reboot and I checked the e911 address. Problem seems to be that I am running 10.3.2.2836.
Not sure it is worth the effort to downgrade it.

I got a z30 from the forums here. It had wifi calling enabled. I don't know how but I used it. It never bothered to ask come to think of it

Yeah, that's a decision for you to make. WFC was so important to me that if a whitelisted 10.3.2.2789 had not come along, I would still be running 10.2.1 on my Q10.

But it may not be as important to you if you're in a good network coverage area, don't care about calling the US when traveling internationally, and if your phone is running just fine as is.

Exactly. It would be nice to be able to call home to the in-laws when we are traveling abroad, but I am not sure that is enough of a justification for the work involved. We can probably get by with Skype or Viber or BBM or something.
