    Please forgive me for being dumb. I was just trying to PING someone on BBM on the passport and the usual menu on the bottom right where you have to hit, then select PING doesn't exist. It seems to disappear when the keyboard is minimized.

    Am I missing something obvious? How do you send a PING to someone on the BB Passport.

    My Passport's keyboard is always showing lol. You sure you have a Passport? When ever I select a contact I can always see the menu with the 3 vertical dots which is where the ping option is hidden.

    Pretty sure i have a passport - holding it in my hands right now.
    I never had this problem on the Z10 or Z30 before.

    I know the problem you're having. Go to your BBM app. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Go to settings. Turn 'show action bar' on. Voila. I had the same problem.

    I am confused by this. The passport has a physical keyboard, it cant be minimized.

    He's talking about the part of the keyboard that's on the screen, like punctuation and numbers.

    Is there any other way to send ping if we choose to hide the action bar? Thought I was able to type "PING!!!" on legacy devices to do that but can't replicate that now

    You could always spell out the word 'PING!!!' it looks normal on your screen but it actually PINGS the person you're bbming as it normally would
