Battery is fast discharging but not too fast. My passport discharged at 8 hours to zero percent battery. Maybe I have too many apps installed to my device? BlackBerry world and snap. I uninstalled everything the I think its back to normal. Is there an app that we can see what is app running in the system. not the device monitor, I know about CPU usage but nothing was there. I think there are apps hidden running on the system. But how can we prevent this problem?

Haven't heard of any issues with "hidden" apps.

Might be time to do a wipe or better to reload a fresh copy of the OS and start over....

I had a problem with Skype running by itself ( I did not even open it) and eating up battery. Later, a call blocker app killed battery so fast that I lost almost 60% battery after 3 and a half hour for that app alone, and the phone was really heated up.
I would suggest to check device monitoring really carefully, and check device setting as well, e.g. screen brightness.

Look at the memory being used (ram). You'll see all apps which are running

Look at "battery" to see what is using up your power.

Twitter today was suddenly using like 25% of the power today. Even more than display which was at 20%. A quick restart fixed it. I

Download BBVE and go into device monitor there and that will give you real-time usage on what is running. Post back with numbers on system and any other high usage apps.

Download Task Manager from BlackBerry World. I only had to use it a couple of times as I killed the apps that were eating my battery. If you have Skype, that could be the culprit. It killed my battery super fast and I couldn't tell it was running. Anyway, task manager works similar to the PC and you can see all running processes. Seems to work well.

There is one called "secure networking" and if that is running, it is a battery hog.

The Runtime include a number of basic Android Services that need to be running....

I've had the same issue. At times System has approached 60%. The only thing that fixed it was a hard reset. As has been suggested, I think it's an Android runtime problem but I'm not sure.

Really frustrating when the Passport normally has great battery life. The problem is that by the time I realize it's happening it's too late and I have to charge my phone midday.
