Is there any validity to this rumor? Would ATT really ever request something this big, and would BlackBerry ever fulfill that request (seems preposterously expensive to do, unless ATT gave them serious incentive).

you are correct, the redesign is not solely about the rounded corners, but also including PMA charging technology

It's just as ugly as the original Passport imo. What it does do though is get the device on a major US carrier. Once they start having them in stores, they will be front and center.

I've never held a passport or seen one IRL but what does make sense to me in this redesign is the additional space on the bottom. Something to hold on to and give balance instead of pressing on the keyboard.

I probably will never want a passport, but if I did I like the looks of the squared edges better.

But maybe someone with a passport can tell me what they think of the additional room at the bottom of the AT&T version.

The specs are the exactly the same as the current Passport only the corners are different. Same chip, camera, keyboard and antenna. I do not know weather or not if this version of the Passport has 10.3 or 10.3.1
