I'm now getting only about 15 hours between charges. When I look at the apps that are running, many are apps I've opened during the day, closed, but apparently are still running in the background.

In app manager, when I try to close the apps, most have no command to close (only delete data or delete the app).

My passport was bought on day 1 when it was released. I cannot tell whether the loss of multi-day holding a charge is gone because the battery is old, or due to the apps.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

In app manager do you go down to "Application Permissions" and "Turn off When Minimized" for EACH app???

I am still getting over 36 hour when I forget to charge it.

In guessing you're not running any android apps on your passport.

Thank you for the suggestion to turn off 'run in background'. I didn't know that there was this tab on the device tab. Curious that CB doesn't allow you to turn off running in background, nor Amazon. Almost all other apps do allow turning of this field.

Yes, I'm running a bunch of Android apps.

There is a very small app on android. App Permissions, around 7.5 Kb only
Install it and fine tune android app permission from there. Saved me bunch of battery and snooping by droid apps.
