I have a friend travelling in NY from Aus at the moment, and I have sent her on a hunt for a Passport for me. And ideas where she could go, and have it within a week?

Actually Mobile City has them. Here's their site:
Unlocked Blackberry Phones-Curve 3G, Torch, Bold, Storm, Pearl without Contract at MobileCityOnline.com

Their store is at 248 Lafayette St. They're really friendly and don't actually push any brand and are happy to show you what they have. I've gotten my last few blackberries including the Z10 there months before they're released in the US. Generally they are European or Canadian editions and the staff will advise you of that.

Amazon. I ordered mine through them on the 10th and got it on the 14th with standard delivery. If you get the overnight delivery you should not have a hiccup. You might even have a color choice too..
