That's one of the reasons I use the soft-gel style cases.

Protects the same situations, is nice and grippy, and lips outwards from the screen all around so even if it's dropped face-down, in 99% of situations I'll be okay and without a scratch!

I think people are being careless putting their cases on.

Regardless, isn't the tiny amount of damage that I think I can see in the picture, generally limited to the SIM and micro SD cover? It's replaceable folks.

I'm not dismissing the annoyance of finding some damage on your device, but just about every case/cover I've ever used has left some rash on my phones. Reading this thread, you'd think you guys were getting ready to march on Waterloo with some torches and pickforks.

This is why I avoid hard cases and stick to a soft plastic or TPU case. I hate it when something made to protect your phone actually damages it.

Yeah using the hard case has scratched the top, I was really pissed off about it

I've slightly pried the top arms open a bit more in hopes of taking some of the pressure off of the device. We'll see if that does anything to save it.
