Amazon and Washington Post have a new App.
It provides the paper free for 6 months.
I'm unable to find the app, but it was released today.

Well, it's exclusively for Kindle Fire devices, so I assume it won't appear until someone extracts the app from a device and publishes it. I wonder whether the Washington Post took that into consideration (i.e. by checking device information to verify it's a Kindle Fire).

It does indeed check to see if it is a Kindle device. It's only available for the Kindle Fire line. Not Kindle Paperwhite. The app does not show available on the BB10 device nor can I push it from Amazon. I could probably extract the .APK from the Kindle Fire but I'm not rooting it just for this.

6 month of free WAPO is a hell of deal though. I'd expect them to lock this down.

You don't need to root it. All you need is an APK backup app, done it already with several apps myself. I'll see if it works once this Kindle charges.

You folks do know that Bezos (Mr Amazon) owns the Washington Post. So the tie-in, and limitation is probably purposeful (although, it may already be out there according to our fearless leader!

Good thinking. Which APK backup app do you use?

(I realize those are Google links but both are on Amazon as well, just was easier to share Google cause I had it open. Ha!)
