I'm getting lots of dust collecting on the edge of the display glass between the seam of the bezel and glass.

I noticed it's happening more on the left side than on the right side.

I also noticed the upper volume button is also loose while the other buttons are tight.

Other than that phone is solid!

I've noticed this happening as well, left side of the screen. It's not a lot, but definitely some dust is collecting.

Is there a gap there? Can you clean it out?

Yes I have the same problem on the left side as well. The right side gap is so small while the left is bigger and that's where the dust particles accumulate. I tried everything possible from isopropyl alcohol to cotton swaps, thin paper. Nothing works. I've also noticed that inside the gap there is some sort of adhesive (glue) that while cleaning it felt sticky and I pulled out some tiny pieces of that. So basically you cannot do anything about it. It will collect dust no matter what because of the glue inside. We should report that to RIM so they are aware of it. I wonder if I can get a replacement cause it bothers me so much. Its only cosmetic but it is annoying especially when you got to look at it under the sun OMG.

For a $700 + tax phone it needs to be replaced. That's unacceptable. Not a lot of reports about this so probably just defective rather than a design flaw.

Are you guys also seeing some light leakage from the sides of the display? There have been a few reports of the screen adhesive giving way and allowing the screen to slightly lift off the frame. Mine is as tight as it was on day one and I'm not seeing any dust accumulation at all.

You need to contact them directly. Isn't there a support tel number on the site?

I wouldn't call this a design flaw but I think more than a handful of devices affected.

Probably manufacturing defect which always happens with the 1st batch of devices especially.

I'm glad I waited this time for the second batch of devices made, learnt my lesson from the Q10.

Your device should include a 30-day support number.

You can take a card, put the edge of the card into the edge of the display and clean out the dust

I just noticed a little bit on the right side and seems to pick up a very slight amount. It's not on the silver bezel but just in towards the glass just slightly. The screen isn't raised and whatever gap exists, if any, appears non-existent. I'm uncertain why the dust is actually clinging to there.

I had this on my curve 9720. It was livable until I had some glare, and then it became difficult to read.

It's almost invisible on mine. I was initially concerned but there aren't any gaps so I no longer have a concern.
