Anyone thinking to switch from passport to BlackBerry's new DTEK50?
Looks attractive with good specs and competitive price!

Nope, upgrading to the PRIV this week though. Can't stay with a product forever that will go partially supported. Technology is about change and hopefully improvement with changes. You're either on the train or not and I'd rather have a ticket to the next stop.

Naw, I love my Passport SE, and I have a LG G4 with all the Blackberry apps as a backup or if I feel like playing with Android.

Switched to the priv from the passport ,

    Blackberry android is pretty slick,

    I'd recommend switching.

Stop holding onto old hardware and an os with no support. The run time is dead in android world with many apps making kit kat the minimum now that is needed to run anything worth while.

Passport is a great device, but stop being stubborn , it's time to let go .

I bought the priv and after using it I got my SE back from my brother and also another OG from amazon. The priv goes back where it came from, into the box.

It's not about being stubborn, it's about preferences. You liked android better than bb10. Maybe you are dependant on apps. I don't need them. Calls, texts, browsing, emails, BBM is all I do, and no the priv doesn't do that better than the passport. For people like me the passport is the Lord of smartphones.

Ps. The priv can bake cookies as well. Pretty hot (no pun intended) feature.

It looks attractive all right. But since it's not a PKB phone, I may have to pass.

The DTEK50 hardly looks like a BlackBerry. Its back cover with the BlackBerry logo doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the Z30 or even Z10 did.

There's not much BlackBerry in the newest BlackBerry, at least the PRIV is designed by BlackBerry and not some random Chinese company.

That's exactly my point. Where's the  BlackBerry branding on the front?? This Dtek can be mistaken for anything a oneplus, a vivo, an oppo, anything but definitely Chinese.

However the priv had its own character. Dtek can't come even close. I proudly flaunt it as the new BlackBerry flagship and it does impress a lot of people. Specially the slide out capacitive keypad and the gorgeous amoled screen. The materials used is not flagship standard but the thought put in the concept definitely is.

I've only seen the commercial but I don't like it. It's hard to beat the PPSE at least aesthetically.

Really struggling to understand, why people are so negative about this phone. I myself am a PKB lover and hence would stick to Passport, but apart from that I see positive things in this phone such as BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry security and android apps! And all that having 3GB RAM at competitive price!
