Is there any potential way to force an android app to run in the normal 16:9 ratio?

A number of games that use the entire widescreen do not run properly because some of the pieces of the design are hardcoded and it glitches out. For example, take a look at Clash of Clans:

Unfortunately changing the zoom in/ zoom out doesn't fix anything... anyone know of a potential fix? :/

Did you try hiding the lower black bar with the back button?

Thanks, hadn't thought of that since in all other android apps on my previous Z10 would stop functioning properly when I did that so I just tested that.

Unfortunately to no avail, it just messed up the touchscreen interaction areas... (I tried it with both zoom in and zoom out)

    Any other ideas?

I think you might have to wait for an android runtime update.

I've seen some video's online about how the 1:1 screen is messing up non supported android games.

Some games run fine but others don't, bummer that clash of clans is one of them though.

    Wouldn't a 16:9 mode be really small?

I don't necessarily mean 16:9, but sometime of enough aspect ratio to run properly...

I think the best option would be another drop down menu at the top from the swipe-down android app container options allowing us to choose from a few common aspect ratios like 1:1, 16:9, maybe like

    4:3 would be really sweet.

Sorry I was trying to copy in text from a webpage but I was trying to kill my battery last night and finally got it to die after being at 0% for 25 minutes despite the flashlight and 6 resource intensive apps being open lol

    Anywho, meant to say:
4:3, 3:2, 5:4, and basically any standard size for androids would be good, however I'd settle for even just having a single one that can go landscape or portrait :P

I agree. Having a 16:9 or 4:3 choice would be great. Some apps just won't work right because they were hard coded in such a way that they expect certain aspect ratios. I agree black bars would make things smaller but if it is that or no app at all I would at least like the option. The android runtime is awesome but we need to be able to emulate other aspect ratios. The zoom in and zoom out and remove the bar at the bottom are not working for the apps I want to run, but those apps ran fine on my z10 because it had the 16:9 ratio.
