So yesterday the Amazon app started to really drive me nuts: it would only launch after about 10 attempts: launch, hang, close app, relaunch, hang, etc...

So I deleted/uninstalled and then did a hard reboot on my Passport... Now it won't install.

I am still on the official OS 10.3.0.1418 and this app is only available from Snap.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Could you try uninstalling it and seeing if it installs for you?



Some research got me thinking that perhaps the apk is screwed or getting updated and is thus not available, but that's why I would like someone else to try installing it to confirm this suspicion.

Hey OP, that screenshot you posted doesn't look like the right App. Why is the description, "Amazon Shopping" instead of appstore? The symbol doesn't look right either. Just a thought. Maybe it's the wrong app.

Hey OP,

Is that for just that app or all apps.

I do know that I originally downloaded the amazon app from the amazon app store. A couple weeks later Amazon sent me an email with a $5 discount applied to my account and the email went on to say that the amazon app has not be designed for the passport and though I could continue to use it, it will no longer be available.

Just thinking in text.

So far it's happened for the amazon shopping app, netflix, and pandora... the latter 2 I don't use, but tried installing to see, any other app or game installs fine. It's not that big a deal I guess, but was curious if anyone else was experiencing this on their Passport or other bb10 device.

Hey Dose,

I just checked my Amazon App, and it's working fine. I went through some old apks to see if I had an old one saved somewhere and unfortunately I don't.

To piggy back on what one of the previous posters had mentioned, despite having the actual app, I find myself using the Web browser for my amazon purchases and I do them frequently lol.

If I find an old APK i'll post it to see.

Wait. Did you say any app from snap isn't installing? Or just this one and the others are hanging?

Underway, on my Passport it used to be that same one 'amazon' (same icon too) but after a somewhat recent slew of app updates in Snap, it changed the icon to the one shown in my SS and name to 'amazon shopping'

Search the amazon appstore for 'amazon' and, 'amazon.com' and you won't find it. I can only find it via Snap.

No, it is not a shopping helper, but it's all good, I'll just use the browser until they release an updated version or when Snap v3 comes out.

I remember seeing that Icon as well. If i'm not mistaken it was the tablet version of amazon, which ironically was the one I got a credit for directly from amazon.

So I powered up my Z10 to see if I could recreate the issue.

Here try installing this. Downloaded it from snap. Worked flawlessly for me. The initial load took a while though.

My amazon app store keeps notifying me of an update for Amazon app (shopping), I try to update but it fails to install. Z30 10.3.1.1154 the app works still but I can't update

I had a problem where I would try to update Amazon Appstore apps but would get a "failed to download". I ended up completely deleting the apps and installing from scratch and that worked. Give that a try.
