Hello all I'm new here; I really love the design of Passport and contemplate to have one (hope it will never too late). But as I need to use Whatsapp w/ all the chat history in my smartphone so the question is:

If I Install the android ver. of Whatsapp in Passport, can I restore my android phone's Whatsapp Google drive backup? Much appreciate if somebody can know it, it will be the critical point I buy a passport or not, many thx!

    Not directly....

Download the backup and copy it to your phone, then restore that copied file. Think you'll need to copy it to internal drive Dev/misc/whatsapp/backup

    Isn't it "Device/misc/android/WhatsApp?"
I am still having problems getting this backup to show up on my BB PP

    Hey guys!

I apologize for digging this subject back up from its grave, but I struggle to find the answer to my question in previous posts.

Basically, I manage to install WhatsApp and "fix it" as per Conite's standard reply:
"Download WhatsApp from Android. (EXCEPT I'VE DOWNLOADED IT VIA COBALT's PLAYSTORE)
Install app, tap OUTSIDE the box IF warned about Google Play Services.
    Run patch from BlackBerry World:
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/60005088
You will need an SD card for this to work."

However, first thing WhatsApp does is ask me to configure how I want to backup conversations (daily, weekly, monthly), and forces me to select a Google Account.
I then select the same Google Account used to install Cobalt's PlayStore... and that's pretty much it, nothing works after that.

I see hereabove people suggest to copy/paste the backup directly in the device, which is great, but (1) I'm not necessarily looking to restore a previous backup (would be nice though, obviously), and (2) WhatsApp backups no longer appear to be "files" you can download from Gdrive.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you!
