Question now is when will it be in stores across the world?

I have on good authority that it will be available in Malaysia within the first week of October. We're probably one of the first few countries to get it because of BlackBerry's "recent" popularity.

After all the Z30 was launched here.

Looks like Canada, Dubai and England will be the location for the launch party but does that mean its available straight away?

Someone on another thread also mentioned that a dutch carrier will be launching the passport between 29th september and 3rd of october.

    It cant be soon enough.

Same here. There was a forum post by Vodafone Germany if I recall it correctly. Nothing confirmed though.

From the post made on blackberry blog, this is an exclusive event which is why you haven't gotten a mail. You will surely get a mail when it is to be available

Sign up again but this time mark yourself as a business. You'll get a ping from BlackBerry.

Not going to do it. Got a Z30 , will watch from the sidelines. I predict the world will be short supply of these phones everywhere. Demand is going to outstrip supply and expectations. That means very high prices to begin with most likely. Better get that Z30 now. You might need it for now.

Yea, does Launch date = Availability date?
Will production be stunted like the Z3?

I'm going to hope they don't commit another F-up like they did with the release of the 10 series. I think It really screwed them that they announced the Z10 and Q10 in January and I couldn't buy a Q10 in the US until the end of June.

I predict U.S. Availability on Halloween.

    Boo!

In Canada, the z10 was available 6 days after it was announced on January 30th. According what I see the passport will be the same thing.

My contract started on February 5th the day I got the z10.

Vodacom South Africa told me "Mid October" so I would say around (16th 17th) or (20th 21st)

This was from their procurement team. Obviously I can't say 100% if this is true as the guy might just be pulling my leg. But that's what I was told. So thought I would share

Release date does not equal availability date so far I have learned. Plus it's BlackBerry, so I'll not set too high a hope and guess by December it'll be available to the public.

I personally believe that there will be little time between the announcement and availability. JC has proven that he is not waiting around in these times and he's pushing the company forward. Doubtful world-wide launch first thing but I'll willing to bet that by end OCT the bulk of the world will have availability. This is not the Z3. They were testing the waters as well as ironing out the contract and production timelines with Foxconn. The passport is being manufactured in house so they can control it more.

However, I guess time will tell, or at least 3 weeks.

I just hope all the US carriers decide to release it around the same time, not like the Q10 which took sprint an extra 3 months to release.

In Greece they didn't bring even the Z30, so I don't expect to see the passport either... however I always buy my BlackBerry from expansys in the UK .

These potential delays in availability are what lead me to buy another Q10, just to hold me over. Plus I'd like to see some end-user reports before I jump in with both feet. With Verizon not carrying ANY BlackBerrys in stores (order only) there is no point cueing up for the release that might not come anytime soon.

If I remember when the Z10 launched, it was available next day in UK, and like a week later for other places. Hopefully it will be next day for the launch countries and maybe within the week for other countries?

If BlackBerry doesn't launch the Passport in a reasonable time frame in the US, then I am switching to iPhone. I am not waiting 5 months like I did for the Q10.
