This is the first time I've ever complained about an update, but 10.3.1.1779 is driving me nuts (granted it's a short drive, but still)!

There was the screen flicker issue, but I restarted my PP and it went away, but ever since the phone has been really buggy and even worse the battery life is almost as bad as my wife's iPhone 3!

I installed the update when it came out several months ago and I've rebooted it a number of times since then but it has become a REAL problem.

I have an unlocked PP on TMo USA, does anyone know of any official updates coming down the pike? For a variety of reasons I can't do any of the leaked/unofficial updates so I'm really hoping something is going to be coming out of Waterloo sooner rather than later.

    Thanks!

I would suggest, perform a complete backup, reload the OS using Blackberry Link and then perform a restore

Ok, thanks for the advice...I'll do that.

That being said, am I the only one having this problem? I would hate to think my PP hates me!

Me too even after doing a full wipe and restore alarm clock doesn't work when set via assistant active frames aren't displayed properly when minimized. Auto rotate can take up to 5 seconds to kick in. Also has anyone noticed when watching YouTube videos when you flip the device the video becomes darker for a split second then becomes brighter an issue I've has ever since BlackBerry 10 was released. Battery life stinks. Using a Z30 as daily driver. My q5 gets better battery life!

I also initially had poor battery performance on 1779 but went through my apps disabling run-in-background permissions and deleting stuff I didn't use anymore. Now battery lasts much longer.

I reckon you should go to finding and fixed thread for 1779, you will get better solutions! If the backup, reload and restore method doesn't work.

You're right. This version is not particularly good. I went straight from 10.3.0 to this version through and official OTA update on Rogers.

Battery life is the biggest issue. On 10.3.0 I would have around 40% left. With 10.3.1 my battery saver kicks in at 20% almost every day now. There seems to be and "Android Player" process running all the time now.

Besides the poor battery life, I've noticed that the Calendar app is slower as is launching WhatsApp. Those are the only issues I've noticed.

I'm sure that these issues will work themselves out with successive updates, but I would have probably not updated had I know ahead of time.

I've been running SR 10.3.1.1779/ OS 10.3.1.2576 loaded via Sachesi Blitz. Granted, I updated on top of an existing 10.3.1.2480, so your mileage may vary coming OTA from 10.3.0

I have had no issues. Android performance is never as smooth as native, but overall it's the best so far compared to other BB10 releases.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Thus far my Passport seems to be working with with that release. But, I am monitoring the battery life. I'm not 100% sure if it is currently better or worse...

I find that the OS is good overall. My concerns are with battery life mainly. It's a subtle difference.

I think that the Android Player always running in the background may indeed make android apps launch faster and run smoother, but it does compromise battery life IMHO.

How's your bluetooth working? Since 10.3.1, the ability to connect to bluetooth devices (car/phones/speakers) has disappeared.

I've noticed that some Android apps don't play nicely with 10.3.1. For instance, Poynt & TuneIn were really screwing with Maps until I removed them. Now they're gone my PP is perfect.

I had the lower battery performance on the last update, can't remember the version number (the one before 1779). The problem went away by itself without me doing anything after a few days, my guess is, it is re-indexing?

My main problem after the update is the phone runs very hot and keyboard would go haywire, and 1779 does not seem to fix the issue.

Almost everything is perfect with this build. Except battery life. I've uninstalled several things and watched battery life get worse. So, I'm suspecting that something uninstalled that left a "run in background" setting and my phone is trying to find the app. So, I'm in the middle of a security wipe and I'll rebuild my app arsenal. Is there an app that will show me what apps are using excessive battery?

If I do a backup with link and then reinstall the update, also with link, will it kill my Clash of Clans progress?

At some point I won't care, this is the worst battery performance I've ever had on any phone, ever. I'm lucky to get 4 hours!
