I believe those who followed the other thread on battery issues saw some of my posts and recently my device was exchanged for a new one and the battery drain persists. I swap out the sim card to a proper micro sim and battery life is back to a sane level, another sim which is the latest 3 in 1 size, nano sim which has the sim adapter when inserted into the P9983 drains the battery like nobody's business.

I remember reading a post from somewhere online of someone noticing that batt drain is bad when a nano sim with adapter is inserted into a non nano sim device and many people laughed and jeered at the thread starter but with my recent experience, I'm beginning to think the sim card does affect the battery life.
