Possibly the ugliest phone ever made?
I'd rather use those old brick phones from wall street that gordon gekko uses than this POS

Think of it like a piece of art (sculptures), it requires a "different" approach then the norm.....I like it

I think it looks fantastic. I thought that when I first saw it and I still do.
It really does have style.
I only have two things against this phone.
1). I drive a Mercedes-Benz, not a Porsche.
2). It has been priced too high to buy for just the two years of a phone's useful lifetime. - 06-24-2012, 01:59 AM #9
Though I wouldn't buy one, I do think they look better in person than in pictures.

You really need to see one in person before making comment, I didn't like it at all when I saw the first photos, now having one its actually very smart. Modern clean straight lines, the right mixture of anodized and chrome finishes around the edges give it a slimming appearance.
The only thing I had trouble getting accustomed to was the theme, I now use the HedoneDesign_B7i_9900 Theme, I find this fantastic. Gives me more screen real-estate, easier to quickly and clearly know what each icon represents.
Until purchasing the PD case it the other downside was the lack of accessories to protect it. The PD case is excellent with only one draw back, it doesn't lock and unlock the screen. On the upside it doesn't add noticeable bulk and cleans the screen with its felt interior! That's a bonus. - 06-26-2012, 01:11 PM #12
The device sucks for typing. Not a fan of the keyboard, certainly not for 1850.00 msrp

I use UHMW Anti-Friction tape to line the inner portion of the PD Case.
Specifically, the Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW) tape is an extremely high abrasion resistant material. The molecular weights range between 3.1 to 5.67 million. It allows the back of the P'9981 to glide smoothly into the PD Case. ........ no messy lubricants needed. -

It is supposed to have a modern artsy look to it. Personally, I kind of like it even though I don't like a whole lot of those things

I have the same color case.

Did you line the sides? - 07-07-2012, 01:26 PM #19
I like it more now than when it came out. I've yet to see one in person though.

There were a couple for sale in my local kijiji adds. The person want 1600 for it, and the other guy wanted 1200. Don't know if it sold or not, but its probably a good deal no?

Depends on the currency. If its 1200 Euros I'd say its expensive for a second hand but if its 1200USD it would be par for the course I guess.

i bought this phone 20days ago,and i use it with this case...why such problems on the leather?it only on the corners of the battery cover..look please i use it with this case..maybe case damage leather of the battery cover?or no?
if case damages it ,it will be better if i will use it without case? - 07-16-2012, 04:13 PM #24
I'll admit I don't know for sure, but I'd make a few observations:
1) It doesn't appear to actually be perforating the leather on the corners, just compressing it. Granted, it's an expensive, handcrafted designer piece, and even THAT shouldn't be happening, but it may not be actually shortening the life of it, either
2) The issue may be addressable under warranty. Especially given the price this puppy retails for.
3) I know this may sound dumb (and I only ask because I was using my own 9900's holster wrong for a couple of weeks): are you actually putting the phone into the holster the way it's supposed to go?
