Porshe blackberry P9981
Really thinking of getting the P9981. Initially looking at it, I didn't like it. Now seeing it almost everyday I'm starting to really fall for it. Even though I have the 9930 just the fact of having the P9981 is crazy. It's mostly celebrities and the richest of the richest have this phone. Plus I love the design of the phone. What do you guys think?

Meh. I could buy it, but why? It's not as good as a stock 99xx.

I can do it if I want. But I'm not sure if it's going to be a good investment. Things that are that expensive I want it to cost more in the future. I'm not sure if - pay 2,000 would someone buy it for 3500 or 4000 in the future?

I would love to have one too, but over here in Malaysia it's just too much to spend on a phone. It's RM6999!! My maid needs to work 6 months to get that kind of money...

Let me start by saying I would own one. In fact, I tried to buy one on eBay last week when I saw one at a ridiculously low bid and only hours to go before the close. Of course, I was ultimately outbid, but I had been prepared to go much higher than what I'd pay for a 9900.
If you're expecting the device to actually APPRECIATE, though, you're deluded. I strongly doubt that any device, no matter what its design pedigree might be, is going to be worth more in a decade than it is now.
You buy a P'9981 because it's a design statement. Value doesn't even begin to enter the picture. - 06-21-2012, 10:29 AM #13
Price is steep. But how is it any different then buying a LV purse, a Burburry Jacket or a Maserati? It's a luxury brand so it's obviously not going to be a bang for your buck purchase.
For people who hate the phone either you hate the device itself, which means aside from the keyboard you hate the 9900, or you hate the status/money attached to the phone, in which case, your questioning perceptive value. Question that, and you'll need to question your own priorities/perceptions. - 06-21-2012, 09:22 PM #14
I totally agree, its nothing different from buying a high-end designer pieces, honestly thinking spending this much money for a porsche design phone is more reasonable than spending the same amount for a bag as the phone actually has function to help you communicate the best way as possible and the class and fashion that the phone gives to you while using it is just a bonus, buying a bag for 2000+ dollars can only give you that high class life status and carry your stuff whereas this phone gives functionality and also the same class status being given to you when you rock louis vuitton bags or such as.
