I just need to find a video of someone dismantling the P9981 and I am sure I can do it. However, there seems to be no video regarding dismantling of the P9981. Can anyone help to point the direction on where I can find it.

Just loves the diamonds or diamond lookalike.

Its a pity iPhone doesn't sell a Premium or Luxury edition of their phone. I am just weighing in on my options in the event my P9981 dies or RIM decides to fold up. Seems like the best alternative would be to buy a 64GB iPhone 5 and load it with a titanium Gresso Revolution bumper case worth $3,000

I probably wouldn't do it myself still lol...it's a risk to take as far as a luxury device is concerned...are u ditching your p9981 if it breaks? I dont think I can leave my p9981 behind im attached to it lol its with me every single day

Maybe you are right. Not worth the risk of taking it apart. Don't get me wrong....I love my P9981 and I have even got a spare one as standby. It is just that I am a little disappointed with all the problems that I had with the phone (started with battery drainage when off, leather coming off back cover, trackpad giving up, the paint coming off the keypad etc) plus the fact that RIM seems to be in a world of their own ...... like not letting consumers know what their software revisions do, disregarding all our complaints regarding the P9981 and not producing something that is worth the USD2,000 we paid for our phones.

I think all of us share a common thing....we love luxury smartphones that has quality and brains. Initially, when the P9981 was launched, I thought WOW....this is what I had been waiting for. But I think it is lacking in the quality and QC department. While we can accept a USD2,000 hyped up version of the 9900, however, I think RIM needs to give us something of a higher quality. Even the painted keys on the 9900 does not flake off and the trackpad works fine. I will keep my p9981 as long a RIM is around but looking at the prognosis, I am not taking my chances and am looking for an alternative now.

Yeah I felt exactly the same when my first P9981 broke (the navigation buttons flipped out and the flex broke...I was so tempted to buy the parts needed and fixed it myself but I thought I better let RIM people do the job and I wanna make the most out of the warranty service thats included in what we paid for..I like it very much I think it defines you in a way how you appreciate fine things in life..I'm a style and fashion blogger and I use my P9981 to get my job done...im blogging about luxury stuff and my P'9981 is the ideal companion...

That's It !! I have decided to take my P9981 apart and swap the bezel. Worst case scenario, if it breaks I'll just ditch the phone and use my spare one. I think it will give me enormous therapeutic rejuvenation to take the P9981 apart.

Congrats. It looks good. I wasn't sure that you would be able to do it, but you sure did. Perseverance was the key.

I've been on a major BlackBerry collecting spree (I've bought all the BB10 devices) and am slowly turning my sights towards the Porsche design phones. Obvious prohibiting factor right now is price so for now, I'll just drool over pics.

While I am not a diamond guy, I have to say that this diamond studded P9881 looks incredible! I would never carry around a phone like that but would gladly display it in a nice lit glass case in my office!

Good for you! When you've got it, right?
