Tried that already. Had the door plated. Didn't work out well.

I was wondering if we can have enuf members who own the P'9981 to indicate their interest for a CF case, perhaps we can do a group buy and may have to ask Kevin to help use approach RIM.

I'm all in for that. Leather is good and all but CF just kicks it up a notch.

Hey there,

I've the same problems with the battery cover of my 9981 and will try to let the leather be replaced with carbon, if theres interest i will inform you about its costs. All the same bad service quality in germany

This is a complicated issue. In the normal process of things, you would just need to replace the glass keypads. However, for the P9981, the keypads are connected to the keyboard and keyboard to circuit board. As such, you can try:

1) changing the keypad 1st
2) if it does work, replace the keyboard flex membrane (which is terribly difficult to remove)
