Anyone tried using the 2430mAH Gold Battery on OS 7.1.0.342 in a P9981?

I read that on the 9900, the Gold battery does not work on OS that is above OS7.1.0.267

Could anyone chime in on this.

I've tried with 3 of my aftermarket batteries on 7.1. Not the one you stated though. All with no success. I downgraded back to original version and they work like a charm.

I had no idea they used the same battery. Strange that Samsung's included battery has a bigger capacity then RIM's.

Hope it works. If so, that'll be my next purchase for this beaut.

Apparently, from firmware 7.1.0.267 onwards, RIM has built into their OS a system to only allow for original batteries. Seems like it does not allow for other 3rd party batteries to be used on the Blackberry.

I am surprised that with the advancement of technology and knowledge, no other batteries suppliers can make a battery that works with the blackberry without the need to clone the batteries. Perhaps Seidio, Mugen pr other entrepreneuring company can come up with a battery of higher capacity but same size as the original battery.
