When you delete a file on your BlackBerry� only the reference to the file is removed from the file system table. The file still exists on disk until other data overwrites it, leaving it vulnerable to recovery.

Wipe File application allow you to securely delete files on the SD Card and in main memory so they cannot be recovered. Wipe File uses the US Department of Defense DoD 5220.22-M (3 passes) standard to wipe files

Wipe File is integrated with the Pictures and Files system applications. To actually wipe a file you need to run the Pictures or Files application

In Pictures or Files application select a Picture or any file and then press the Menu key and select Wipe File menu item. If you do not see the menu item then scroll up to the top.

A popup window will be displayed with the file information. Select the Wipe button to wipe the file.

Note: When the file is wiped you can not recover the file.
