Post What Does Everyone Think About The New UI IN App World 3.0?

Just curious to know what everyone thinks about the new UI and overall look and use of the new version of App World 3.0 that has just been released?

Very nice so far. It needed an update, and this is a step in the right direction.

I like it - - actually I forgot I had the beta installed on my 9700 when I moved to my 9900 I couldn't figure out why it wasn't the same look anymore - I just installed the beta on my 9900 when the new one was released

I haven't decided yet. It's a little cramped for my 9650 (to say nothing of my wife's 9330) but it probably looks good on the newer higher res devices.

I completely agree. Everything about it is just too big on my 9780.

Personally, I don't really like the new UI. If they optimize it for non-touch screen devices, maybe I'd like it a bit more.

Yeah a bit cramped on 9780. A nice look but just needs a bit of touching up (who doesn't!!).

The previous version came stock on my 9900 when I bought it last week.

I am really loving the update. I love how it's redesigned to make it easier to browse the Top Free/Paid apps along with the different categories. The new My World features is really nice as well. I find the UI neat as opposed to the older version. This update is a huge improvement.

i like it, but it feels a little cramped on my 9700
getting my 9900 soon, so maybe it'll be better then

but currently when scrolling through apps.. you can see like 2 1/2 - 3 apps, the whole UI feels, yea, a little cramped
    but i still like it : )

App World has been a standard Native App for some time now on all new and previous new BBs.

Kelly I just answered your first post... Sorry nobody did and it is the last post here but YES you should have had app world on your 9900 as I did on my 9930. Now you will have 3.0 avaiable once you get your new phone and upgrade to it.

As kelly wanted to know if app world period will come preinstalled on his 9900 which is yes. He can either go to app world and send the new version to his phone or I am sure on his first hookup to DM it will be there and more than likely give him 3.0 so I hope this has been clarrified.

I like it. Looks nice, but as long as it functions well, I'd be happy.

I'm clearly in the minority. I *loathe* the new UI. Too big, too flashy. Runs fine on my 9930, but I prefer the old UI.

I have the same opinion. The featured app icons are now smaller due to the goofy slide panel and the entries in My World are spaced further apart so a lot of scrolling is now needed. Maybe this works on the new full screen models but on my keyboard model I preferred the previous App World version.

I'm installing a new OS so thankfully it will revert to the previous version.

Notr impressed with having to sign in to just view My World either.

HELP PLZ! My apps are all missing from My World. I only see apps installed since 3.0 update. Its like it thinks I've never had an appworld account until now. From my 9780, I do have to agree with a previous post about having to scroll more, but then again, I do kinda like the new look. But I'm thinkin about downgrading to get my apps back. I wouldn't mind keeping 3.0 if I could have my 'My World'.
Any suggestions on either getting it to show my apps or downgrading OTA?

I like it a lot. It'll take awhile to get use to but the UI is nice and fresh and the old one needed a makeover even though it was easy to navigate.

Currently a new BB Passport, the best phone I've ever had hands down.(Said that about my Z30 too!)

You have to do a reboot! I had the same issue, but never rebooted the device. Now it shows all my apps.

I upgraded as soon as I saw the update was available which was a few days ago, and I do reboots often (between 1-3x/day just to keep things fresh and running smoothly) so its not a reboot issue :/
    Any other suggestions?

While AW is open, try holding down the ALT key while pressing RST.
This will refresh your cache and close out the app.
Then, re-open AW and hopefully everything will refresh for you after logging in.
MY TAKE ON THE Z10... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!
