Still some confusion about this after researching the suggested threads...

Is there a (preferably free initial download and absolutely NO monthly fee type service) application for the BB 8900 which will allow me to control my iMac within the confines of the same house? I've got my iMac connected to my big screen television via amplified HDMI cable and to a stereo system adjacent to the same big screen TV via an adapted run of RCA cable from 2 rooms away and basically need the means to run the iMac via my Blackberry 8900 so as to show iPhoto slide shows on the television/control iTunes to the stereo/chat on the chatrooms using the big screen for the monitor and the BB keypad for text entry, etc, etc, etc...

PS I'll consider spending the $45 for Idokorro's Mobile Desktop if it's really that much better than any free offerings that may exist for this purpose but don't want to get into any monthly fee situations under any circumstances...
