    Right now you can think of it like speeding. If you do 70mph in a 65mph zone chances are you won't get caught and pulled over (at least in MA). But you could, and some people do. If you use TetherBerry for very light usage it's kind of like that, if you get caught it's a few hundred dollars in ticket fees and insurance hikes and you probably won't do it again. If you use it for gigs of data every month, that's like going 120mph in a 65mph zone. You may not get caught for quite some time, but when you do it's a VERY expensive proposition. Where the analogy breaks down is that you can never catch ALL the speeders all of the time. Verizon could catch all the TetherBerry users all of the time by just pushing an update to their firewalls and traffic shapers.

    There have been stories here of four and five digit bills because of tetherberry and pdanet use.

    It is against the tos on all four major carriers.
