    Can i use BES to query a blackberry to see what applicatins a user has installed on it?

    Yes, at least with BES 5.0. There, you search for a user, then click on their PIN number which brings up the information about the BlackBerry. Click on the applications tab, and you have a list of all installed programs on that BlackBerry.
