So I got the icon saying that one of my apps has an upgrade... I go to appworld, and low and behold, it's BerryWeather...

It says that an upgrade is available (2.1.40) and that it's 917.6kb... But the button says 'Download Trial'? (instead of upgrade)

If I click on 'download trial', will it install a Trial Version over my Paid Version? Or will it upgrade BerryWeather (which I bought from Appworld a few weeks ago) to version 2.1.40?

So apparently, 2.1.40 is the official 2.1 release. A word from the dev:

AppWorld has been quicker in approving the BeWeather update than expected. Version 2.1.40 is the official release is mostly identical to the 2.1.36 beta with some minor bug fixes.

This release will also be the official BerryWeather release. It will be available within the next few days
It was submitted to App World with the thought that it would take a long time to be approved. It seems App World almost did something right here lol.

Please continue to post feedback in the Bellshare BW 2.1 beta thread as it will continue to be updated with a maintenance release if needed.

If you have BeWeather 2.x installed then even though this says it's a trial - it will use the license key you already have and install as a fully licensed upgrade to your exisitng version 2.0 installation. There isn't any difference between trial versions and fully licensed versions - the only difference is the license key - when entered it turns a trial installation into a fully licensed one.

As always - make sure you have this key saved somewhere other than only on App World in case App World loses track of you. The license key for BeWeather is universal for all 2.x versions - you could download the app code from the Bellshare site (where it's named BerryWeather) and use the key you got from App World and it will work.

For those running the public beta version - 2.1.36 - BeWeather 2.1.40 is the same code with the exception of maybe some bug fixes in certain builds. The official release of 2.1 is expected to be version 2.1.40. If you're running the 2.1.36 beta simply wait a couple of days until the official 2.1.40 releases and update to it.

I have to wait since I purchased it from CB App Store to upgrade for free once they release it.

Thats why I dont use App world... seems like they screw up alot , Hopefully CB doesn't follow their path, that version(2.1.40) isn't on Bellshare's website either so guess its not released yet

    UPDATE;
When it is tho will we have to uninstall the beta berryweather(2.1.36) before installing the berryweather(2.1.40)??

No it's not released - at least not yet; the only "released" version of 2.1 is 2.1.36 - the public beta version.

When it does release there will be links to it here.

Based on past experience it will be there first and very shortly after then it will be here at CB and probably also at other on-line sellers.

If you're already running the 2.1.36 beta you should be able to install the release over 2.1.36. If you're running 2.0.x it would be a good idea to uninstall it before installing 2.1.x - just saves a lot of problems.

    App World sucks!

I purchased BeWeather on 1/9/2010 and it shows v2.0.65 in Options -> Applications but when I go to App World it says uninstalled. I reinstalled it now I have it twice in Options -> Applications. In my message folder it tells me there is an upgrade. When I go to App World it says v 2.1.40 is available and when I click Download Trial it tells me Application "BeWeather" already exists. Replace version 2.0.65 with version 1.5.35?

I'm ready to uninstall and but it somewhere else.

I uninstalled, re-installed, rebooted several times and no luck. It is not off my phone and I am waiting to hear back from BeWeather and App World to see how to fix this mess.

I forgot, after re-installing the app from App World it gave me my registration code which I copied and when I went to register it told me I had the wrong code.

Well even though it says 2.1.40 its the luck of the draw if you get it or the 1.5 version.

That's weird... when I clicked on install trial (thinking it would be for version 2.1.40)... after the install I get the message:

Application "BeWeather" already exists. Replace version 2.0.65 with version 1.5.35?

oh well, -guess I'll wait a bit longer.

There are no changes from the public beta 2.1.36 other than the version number.

You can find the changelog for version 2.1.36 here.
