click the "n00b" sticky, then click the "how to back up third party apps"

You should have done that first. If not you will have to redownload them.

this is what i dont get, apploader and DM both will back up the apps and reinstall them. I cant see how people are messing this up.

I dunno I just did a QuickPull, plugged in to my PC and let my DM do the rest. I made some adjustments to my phone once the upgrade was done and that's it.

Sometimes the restore does not work properly when DM or AppLoader try to use them. That is why you want (need) to do a backup before beginning an install either from your PC or from OTA.

I have installed virtually every leaked OS since .65 as well as a number of Hybreds and probably 25% of them had a problem with the third party apps or data being restored. I always had a current backup of each.

well i did about 3 backups and in none of the backups my 3rd party apps were backed up...and my phone did an automatic backup of a lot of the standard stuff just not the 3rd party. so idk what to do. and all my bbm contacts are gone btw, can i recover those?

My guess is that some may be disconnecting their phone from the computer too soon OR they are using a USB hub and screwing things up. AND another thing I don't get is why some are reinstalling .148 even they they are running the leaked .148 just incase it's different.

If you did the standard backup using DM then the third party apps are not incuded in that process. You have to backup third party apps through a separate process.

Try looking in your My Documents folder on your PC for a file named LoaderBackup-(2009-05-31).ipd, assuming you used DM or AppLoader to intall the OS. This will be the backup maded during the install, but I think it will only have your data in it. You would access it from DM using Restore.

Do a search on your PC for third party backup by searching for a file with your Pin as the name and a file extension of .alx
